In the US, hospice care is usually at home, for people who no longer wish to receive treatment, but still need daily care. Pres. Carter entered hospice care at home in May.
It's mainly for people who feel they should be allowed to die at home among family and friends, but who still need daily care. And yes, pain management is part of that.
It is unusual for people to die two days after entering hospice care. It seems too soon.
I remember Rosalynn Carter. She always came across as a very decent person.
