@suzianne saidYes it does seem too soon.
In the US, hospice care is usually at home, for people who no longer wish to receive treatment, but still need daily care. Pres. Carter entered hospice care at home in May.
It's mainly for people who feel they should be allowed to die at home among family and friends, but who still need daily care. And yes, pain management is part of that.
It is unusual for people to die two days after entering hospice care. It seems too soon.
I remember Rosalynn Carter. She always came across as a very decent person.

@fmf saidI have fond memories of England at Italia 90 (under the late Bobby Robson) and then Euro 96 under Venables.
Terry Venables, former England, Spurs and Barcelona manager, dies aged 80
Venables started successful playing career at Chelsea
As manager he got England to Euro 96 semi-final ~ The Grauniad.
After he was forced to step down as manager, the England team went into a long period of mediocrity.
@ptobler saidHe personified how evil the "American experiment" ~ in terms of its body politic thrusting itself onto the world ~ could get.
Henry Kissinger, 100
I acknowledge that he is dead. I offer my sympathies only to members of his family who grieve his death, but not to those who grieve him without the excuse of being members of his family.
@orangutan saidThe fairytale is over rip.
