Battle of Fulford
A victory for Harald Hardrada outside York forces King Harold
to march his army north 200 miles. After defeating Harald he
then has to march back to Sussex to face William the Bastard.
Without losing those men and exhausting the survivors
Harold would probably have won the Battle of Hastings.
And world history would be radically changed.

I visited Borobudur Temple for the first time.
"[It] is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist Temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. The monument consists of nine stacked platforms, six square and three circular, topped by a central dome. The temple is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. The central dome is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each seated inside a perforated stupa. It is the world’s largest Buddhist temple, as well as one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world." Wiki.

I think it was based purely on the Bayeaux Tapestry
(another case of the victor writing history)
Blinding was considered God's punishment for lying
and the Normans believed Harold had reneged on a
promise he had made William years previously.
(In a hurry so no time to check those "facts" .... 😕 )
