@fmf saidCome the revolution:
I'm glad to see you are indifferent to the peerage system.
The House of Lords will become the House of Elected Representatives but Earl Grey tea will still be served.
Queuing is a “Brit-Strength”TM and there will be a new set of NVQs to provide an academic framework for the skill.
I will get a “GTTF” (go to the front) pass.
@divegeester saidSo sad.
One of the older guards at the Queen’s coffin fainted and face planted the stone floor.

@divegeester saidThat looked very painful. I’d already wondered about the strain that fixed, misaligned, head position put upon the spine? Particularly for older people.

@divegeester saidYes, I figured it was just a matter of time they are standing there motionless not even blinking an eye. A young man in good health is required for this. Those Guards have to be top shape to be able to do that. Someone was telling me they are changed every 4 hours. Is this true?

@woodgirl saidAgreed, Younger men in top shape should be a requirement to do this, in my opinion.

@divegeester saidFun really? To stand there for 4 hours motionless?
The queue is now 4 hours long with its own sense of community, solemnity and even fun.
That would take a lot of stamina and more for a younger man in top shape.

@very-rusty saidI think Dive was referring to the moving queue.

@torunn saidExactly what he was referring to they change every 4 hours!
I think Dive was referring to the moving queue.
I think I am fair shape for my age, and I would have a very difficult time standing motionless for 4 hours. Of course I am not in peak shape right now either.

@divegeester saidStill takes a lot of endurance and stamina. It appeared to be an older gentleman who fell. The 3 that were with him couldn't help because of Protocol?
Yes a moving queue which is four hours from back to Westminster Abby entrance.
-VR
@divegeester saidOne would have to be in great shape to do that!
Now almost 5 miles and an 8 hour shuffle of over 40,000 people to the entrance of Westminster Abbey. Extraordinary.
A cup of Earl Grey for me, on my sofa 😄
