@woodgirl saidOne could see that was coming. He had to go I believe!
I agree though such a shame that Andrew today made the decision to join his Royal siblings on the procession through the streets of Scotland which resulted in him being heckled: So humiliating and upsetting for them. He should have bowed out of that part.

@rookie54 saidI find many of the most vocal ardent anti-monarchists protestations self defeating of their own objective.

The only way to get rid of the UK Monarchy is to change public opinion about it, and they aren’t going to do that by being ignorant, oafish and foul-mouthed during an event which is highly valued by the people who’s minds they are trying to change.
Watching it last night I sensed a strong whiff of self-indulgent narcissism from a handful of people looking for they’re lost “15 minutes”.

@very-rusty saidFascinating to watch, especially how the late Queen Elizabeth’s children are now thrust into constant public view as they combine their royal duties with their raw grief. I watched Camilla as she walked down the aisle of Westminster Hall beside King Charles. He couldn’t even provide a reassuring hand to hold. She sat herself on the throne like seat beside him. It must have been terrifying for her, having taken a comparatively minor role up until now as she receives the title of Queen Consort.

@woodgirl saidIt would have felt so much better to see her comfortable in that situation.

@torunn saidI think the break up and what happened to Diana are still fresh in people's minds even after all this time, I can see why Carmella would feel uncomfortable.

@very-rusty saidLady Di was loved, liked and adored by lots of people and she knew it. I didn't quite understand her greatness but I'm sure she was a good person. And I am convinced that Charles and Camilla are good people too and they both deserve support in a difficult situation.

@torunn saidOf course, what I said is I can see why Camilla would look uncomfortable. They been married now for almost 2 decades. People will have their own opinions. Prince Andrew got jeered in Scotland. Of course that is a whole different situation. Just shows you people know what is going on. He had no choice but to go I believe.

@divegeester saidI believe Scotland did a great job divegeester!
Well done Scotland.
I just don't think the funeral was the time or place for the few to be jeering Prince Andrew. Certainly not looking for an argument about it either.
Yes, I know why they were. The world knows why.

@very-rusty saidI was less concerned about the calling out of Andrew tbh as I think some limited public protestation against him (personally) actually prevents him grabbing any reflected glory from the pageantry and collective display of public affection and respect.

But yes I get your point and it is valid.
@divegeester saidWell said, I just didn't think it was the time or place to be jeering him not that he doesn't deserve it.

EDIT: I should add I am not familiar with the Scottish people and the way they do things.

@very-rusty saidThey are very strange. They wear nothing underneath their skirts and fight like alley cats when drunk which is most of the time. And the women are just as bad.

The men are all called Sandy McTavish and they say things like 'Awa an bile yer heid' instead of get lost and 'Och aye the noo' instead of yes.
Favourite food is sheep lungs and liver mixed up with animal fat and oats.
Avoid.
