How would Russ treat one person with multiple personalities who, unbeknownst to his otherselves, had multiple RHP accounts?

As long as every function from his RHP accounts onto his personalities was injective or bijective, would it be tolerated 😛?

It should be tolerated, if this site does not discriminate.

My daughter and I have accounts from the same computer, I e-mailed russ and let him know and it was not a problem. I don't think thats the case with these.

How can you be so sure you would be banned, when you still don't know the details of this case?

By the way, is there a link here anywhere to the TOS agreement?

www.redhotpawn.com/myhome/termsofservice.php, if memory serves.

Maybe '.html'

I can not be sure either way, i do not want to try and find out too late.

The only link to the TOS i can find is if i pretend to register again, on the first page isa link to the TOS.

That should be fixed so TOS are always clearly visible.

EDIT: Yes it does work when you copy the link properly. Sorry.

No, multiple acounts aren't the problem. I haven't had any problems with Russ, and I used to play here as 'cogito' from September '01 through April '02. That account has been inactive for a year and a half, but it is still my old account, and Russ hasn't brought it up as a problem or a violation. So Russ must think that the person he banned had multiple active accounts.

It works fine here, but 'Red Hot Pawn' is not displaying so well on my machine. TFC is, so the problem cannot stem from the fact that I'm doing a disk defrag right now. But in any case try the same link with 'timeforchess' substituted in the relevant place.

i am sorry, i must have copied the link in correctly (i will now go change my post). But this does not take away from the fact that the link is not visible on any of the pages, as far as i can see.

You had to remember were it was.

No problem. You bring up a good point.

We are all assuming Russ banned these people because of multiple accounts. His justification could be the following:

"You will not use chess software, chess computers or consult any third party to assist you in any game (unless expressly agreed prior to any game)", taken directly and unchanged from the TOS

Could we not all fall to this, from other players complaining without proper proof.

I suck at chess, but what is stopping someone in the "Zeta Grand - lower" tournament complaining because of the 300 point rise in my rating. Am i going to be accused of being a cheat ?

If Russ knows the offending IP address, why doesn't he just block that address. If he does not know the IP address or computer ID, then what does he base his banning of the 3 "accomplices". If there is a thought the same person entered 3 times into a tourney... why not place the three of them in "their own group" within the tourney and they will sort out which one they want to play with... It seems as though at least 2 of them will advance to second round.
Of course if there is no ACTUAL REAL PROOF, and it is just whining from a losing opponent(s), then Russ should re-instate all 3 and reprimand the whiner from further unfounded complaints (NOTICE I MADE NO MENTION OF BANNING THE WHINER{S}).
This site needs growth. There is a lack of long-staying players. Most REAL chess players try-out a site for 50 or so games to get a feel for it before "plunking down the Gold" which is what Russ needs to keep it going.
