Lets say that I got my membership right off the bat...played a few other 1200 players...got a 1300 rating established and then played in a 1300-1350 tourney
Now I know I would win it and it wouldn't be fair to the other players
So really sandbagging comes down to ethics.
Is winning a tourney that is beneath your level that important to you?
If i ...[text shortened]... ( who hopes this point has not been brought up before...cause i didn't read the whole thread )

If you are sandbagging, you are sandbagging. Its not against site rules so no one can say you have broken a rule but people are wondering how you post so much in forum and have no time to move in your game. Is funny, no? Its sandbagging .....
Originally posted by Drew LThanks for the support. In fact looking at my tournament games, I was winning in 1550-1600 octet tournament, I was only who didn't have a single loss and only one draw but I resigned uncompleted games in it an lost a chance to easily win in a tournament with rating section I really belong.

The reason ?
Sometimes there are more important things in life then online chess tournament. Same with other resigned games. I occasionally still post here during the playing break because I love this community but I simply do not have the time to occupie my head with 50 fast controls chess games before my university graduation.
But there is always some pesky troll which will accuse you. 🙁

look bad in front of other players even if I have explained my reasons (and I am not obliged to do so, it is my good will) ?
Please stop trying to ruin my reputation. Since I am member of this site more than two years and I do not have a single tournament victory it means I am fair player who do not win tournaments with unsport methods.
Furthermore, you can't even play in the tournament on this site so why do you care so much ?
I do not like useless fights so I would appreciate if you stop posting my name all around. I do not do so with yours.
Thanks.

So, I don't have any tournaments pending and I offer (not accept) games in the open invites and clearly state on move 1 that I am a 1400 player.

What are you anyway, Spanish Inquisition ?
As for calming down, there is no need for sarcasm, I am perfectly calmed I am not taking to heart every provocation from unknown people.
Originally posted by ludzI don't see what you hope to accomplish by this McCarthy-like quest. Of all the names named, only one actually did something unethical [the guy with tons of low-band tournament victories].
Now where was I before I was interrupted. Class, if you want to sandbag make sure you have bullet-proof skin 🙂
Ain't this fun...
As for the rest of the names, it only highlights the need for rating floors. It is pointless to blame people for resigning all their games to tend to more important things than online chess. Tell us, what would you have a person do in that situation?
