@divegeester said"Noah had quite a session on the ark" did indeed include some artistic license.
Actually it was post flood and some time after disembarking the Ark. Noah had planted and harvested a vineyard and it was from those grapes which he made wine and got drunk, not on the ark.
'Noah had quite a session sometime after the flood in a vineyard' didn't have quite the same gravitas.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidSo you knew that the event was some time post ark but decided to present the account differently to gain more impact?

Edit; why does this ring a bell...
@divegeester saidIt was a throwaway joke.

Alas, I don't have Noah on speed dial to check these things.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidAnd yet you validate your biblical claims by citing your theological degree at what seems like every opportunity you get.

@divegeester saidI used to wake to have a smoke, I managed to pack in using lozenges, smoked a few joints since, but 28 years without ciggies.
Blimey, two interesting topics in one thread.
I gave up smoking after reading “How to give up smoking - the easy way” by Alan Carr many years ago.
He explained exactly what you are talking about here; the psychological addiction vs the physical one. I was convinced that I was some sort of drug addict and couldn’t get unhooked until I read that book.
There were ...[text shortened]... sn’t even wake you up in the night!
Part 2 was utter enlightenment for me and I was finally free.
@badradger saidWell done. You have probably extended your significantly.

@badradger saidIt was the one after dinner I struggled giving up. (Was the last one to go).

@ghost-of-a-duke saidIt appears you don't want another verbal thrashing come your way! 🙂 😛

@divegeester saidGin & Tonic ~ Ibiza 1973, baby-sitting holiday for Aranya10 and her family.
One olfactory stimulant which used to trigger a negative reaction in me was the smell of neat gin.
As youngsters a friend and myself collaborated to buy a bottle of Hogarth’s Gin at what I remember as being £3.79 at that time. We took it out to the local park and sat in the middle of the vast expanse of grass and drank enough of it to make us vomit.
I couldn’t touch gin for about 15 years but nowadays I seem to have no problem with that delicious aroma.
Does the taste also count as a smell?
@drewnogal saidYes, it should.

Sometimes when I feel the scent of a perfume I had ages ago, I still recall where I lived, where I worked, the people I was seeing, the situation I was in.
