@trev33 saidSo what’s your problem?
It's a fact if you test positive today and die of a heart attack in 25 days it count as a covid death. If someone can rationaly explain to me why you have to quarantine for 7-14 days after a positive test but if you die within 28 days of anything it's a covid death I'll happily take back my comments.
Im not denying that there's a virus or that it has caused the early deaths ...[text shortened]... ng in the street looking ill and the heath service here isn't the best and homelessness is an issue.
@trev33 saidIt makes one wonder is all. Did they just make a mistake or not report the cases, there were only 2 but my Niece said the Health Service Department did know about them in the morning, so they actually should have been on the evening news and they weren't. She called the Journalist who hosts the 6:00 p.m. News a liar, but I told her that may not be the case he may not have gotten the facts from the Health Service Department. I know mistakes can be made it just makes one wonder if they are hiding how many cases we do have, or was it just a mistake and the information wasn't passed along. If so, how often does that happen?
Is that a conspiracy theory I smell? 😉

@divegeester saidWith the way they're reporting the deaths clearly. Obviously inflated but why?
So what’s your problem?

@very-rusty saidWhen you see two news reports on the same issue that's completely different you soon realize that everything on the news can't and couldn't be believed. I try to aviod the news but I'm just too damn nosy and like to have something to complain about 😂

@very-rusty saidDo you own the news service? Then complain to them. Your options are limited.

@divegeester saidMaybe the government is just completely incompetent, lets go with that. A lot has changed since I went to Colombia, needing a negative test to enter the UK, flights banned from all of S. America and southern Africa I believe as well and now the forced quarantine hotels from people coming in when the flights do start again. Almost a year after the virus started, why not completely close the borders before and have a strict lockdown with a curfew like Peru? Oh, that's right Peru still had a bunch of cases and deaths but Tanzania has remained completely open to people coming in and out as they please, everything open but only 24 deaths, Kenya closes it borders and places restrictions but has nearly 2k deaths? The entire thing is just bizzare, feels like a massive human experiment. Ok, now im gettong into conspiracy territory 😂
That’s what I’m asking you? This is your premise...
😄
@trev33 saidI think it’s global white noise chaos and people, all people, our minds will tend to look for patterns to bring order to the chaos.

I have some hard-core conspiracists in my family and I brook no argument about it in our family groups. I’ve found it to be very divinise, harmful to close relationships and an excise in futility, delusion and at times utter stupidity.
As I have grappled with the chaos of 2020 and at times the lack of robust information, found that applying Occam’s razor provided a clarity not afforded by the media or even the scientific community.
@divegeester saidLike brexit and religion? 😉

My family are split as well but my almost 70 year old parents are the ones who think its nothing to worry about more so than the younger ones.
The thing that I dislike the most are the people who are completely paranoid about the virus and act like those without the same feelings some how are terrible people who should be banished to hell or whatever. People have a right to have a different opinion and at the moment we really can't be sure what or who is correct, we won't know until a few years from now i imagine.
No point in arguing with people over it.
@trev33 saidSimilar to religion but not Brexit, but not the same as either.
Like brexit and religion? 😉
Firstly religion. Religion is a socially well established, over thousands of years, state of faith. People rarely get upset because someone says they believe in God, despite some of those people who believe in God also claiming that those who don’t believe will go to hell. Threats of eternal damnation are simply not given credence anymore, while the population is more or less still comfortable that there are people who believing in God’s. Covid 19 exists, it is scientifically proven to exist and there is unilateral evidence that it kills, whether one believes in it or not. Using religion as example to support your position only goes underline my feeling that you are in fact an unbeliever in covid 19.
Secondly Brexit. Brexit is not a conspiracy, it exists and has happened. It can be scientifically proven to exist and is documented as such. Not being a Brexit supporter or being a Brexit supporter is not an appropriate analogy for conspiracy theories that covid 19 either doesn’t exist or isn’t dangerous. Covid 19 is proven to be dangerous, Brexit is proving, so far, to not be. In fact it could be immediately argued that the UK’s political independence from the EU has enabled a more agile negotiation position with the vaccine suppliers and is facilitating the world leading roll out of them.
@trev33 saidIn my family the topic is now agreed to be avoided.

I don’t have much issue with sceptics, I’m a bit of a sceptic myself, but I do have issue with the polarised belief that it’s all a hoax. People actually believe that, right! It’s all a hoax. Ask why... oh my friggin’ god!!
- “They” want to control our freedom... how?
- “by lockdowns” really!!????
- “They” want to control our minds...
- “They” want to reduce and control populations... How?
- “Bill Gates” and a group of elites who are trying to vaccinate the world. How?
- “Vaccines weaken our immune system” “they have foetus cells in them”
- “They” want to build a new world order by destroying economies” who?
- “the elites” why?
- “so they can have it all” but they already are the riches people in the world
....and so the rabbit hole goes on and on and on.
Then through American right wing religion in and you have it all being led by Qanon, lizards, elite child sex rings, and god knows what else.
Trev, just back slowly away mate.
