What's the difference?
even dead clan games, i'd rather play on than click the skull... unless i was sure of winning the game.

>Clicking a skull is exactly the same as claiming a win on time in OTB chess when your opponent's clock runs out. It's part of the rules of chess and there's no reason to feel bad about winning this way, no matter what the situation is on the board.
>It's no different than a sports team winning when the clock ends the game, except that in chess you must claim the win while in the other sport the win is automatic. Here on RHP, that claim is made by clicking a skull.
>It is a win, and an honourable win at that.

Originally posted by AttilaTheHornre sports, that's so not ture. soccer for example... 90 minutes of play (more if you're utd or chelsea) whistle blows at the end and who has scored the most goals wins.

chess is ended by checkmate or resignation. a loss by time, ok within the rules and totally acceptable but it's a win with a * beside it. especially here with cc game, otb fair enough the clock was set at the start, someone failed to play within the time, game lost. here is different, so you start a 3/7 game and you're winning but for whatever reason (family/work issues... whatever) you can't play for a week or so and your opponent clicks the skull. it's not a deserved win, there's a difference to an otb timeout win and a cc timeout win.

To expand this question:Has anyone had a backlash from someone they skulled?I timed out someone in ONE DAY NO TIME BANK and got an abusive pm from them.
Isn't that the sole reason "one day no time bank" games exist?
I'd assume the vast majority of them end in timeout.

I click 'em and then laugh out loud alarmingly loud. This is CC, there are time controls and vacations. there is no excuse for not moving within the alloted time.
Such as a death in the family, Person being sick and in hospital, computer crash being among the top ones I have run into personally.
Should the game always come before the person in your opinion?
