I'd also hate the USA to win because it just wouldn't be right. Can you imagine the headline "America wins the rugby"?[/b]For another peice of useless trivia I believe that the USA are the current Olympic champions🙄.
Could have got my dates wrong but the last time rugby (15 a side) was in the Olympics was something like 1908 or 1912 and USA won it.
Poor start to the tournament lets hope it gets better.
Glad Given (spelling?) was alright looked very nasty on TV no movement always frightens me.

I'm watching the Fiji-France game now and the commentators are spouting redundant shite like "Fiji will need to hold on to the ball if they want to have any chance of winning this game"
poor pumas they suck! but does anyone know if we are gonna have these aussie commentators for the WHOLE tournament cos i'm dying after only one game.phrases like 'GO YOU GOOOOOD THING' really annoy me.

Japan should've beaten Scotland. They were only beaten because Stuart Dickinson let the scots spoil and steal the Japanese ball illegally.
Man those little guys can tackle! The scots are gonna be licking their wounds for weeks.
Originally posted by D43M0NIt was England, and really not that embarrassing for the Georgians. It was their first world cup I believe and they had a 80+ start so they actually performed better than expected.
anybody see Wales vs Georgia.... impressive for Wales (or maybe England, i can't remember) to win by over 70 points. Georgia is now gonna be the butt-end of jokes for all enternity.
So, final score...Wales 81-6 Georgia.
UP THE WALLABIES!
Hi guys
I ended up watching the following matches:
NZ-Italy
How long will Italy remain part of the 6 nations?Umaga and rockoco out?Nono(sp?) was very impressive at centre.
France-Fiji
Like I said, watch out for the French!
SA-Uruguay
I dont think much can be learned from this match.Fourie had a good game on outside centre but then again a blind person with one leg would have had a good game against Uruguay. All will be revealed Saturday England-SA.
Wales-Canada
I now understand how Italy can be a part of the 6 nations, one of the worst matches I have watched in recent years.
Just a thought. How much do these games actually mean?Scores of 80 something to 3 surely wont assist in making rugby a global sport?I believe there simply are not enough good teams to justify a WC hosting 20 teams.Maybe the teams should be reduced to 12.I understand the argument that teams like Uruguay and Georgia never get the opportunity to play against the likes of SA and England. But my point is:Why not?Shouldnt the bigger teams undertake tours to countries like Portugal,Spain,Germany etc.?The stronger countries can send so called "A" teams on these tours and the IRB can cover the costs. They are afterall making a nice profit.
I guess what I am trying to say is that what happened this weekend is not in the best interests of the players or supporters or rugby in general.Have a WC for the bottom 20 teams.Let them fight it out and the winner and runner up then qualify to play with the big boys in a 12 team WC.Promotion/relegation if you wish.I know a 12 team WC sounds silly but believe you me a 20 team WC looks silly.
I am a BIG fan of rugby but what happened this weekend is just ridiculous! It was a relief to watch two local teams playing Saturday evening.Bulls vs Sharks.Best rugby match of the weekend and maybe, just maybe the only rugby match.
Use it or lose it...
