@great-big-stees saidAbout 30 miles this side of the causeway that leads to Cape Breton, is where I am from originally and about 20 miles from the nearest town Antigonish.
Cape Breton?🤔

@Very-Rusty
As long as you can follow hockey and play chess, it's as good as anywhere. I have relatives in Old Towne Maine
and if you look on the map you'll see that southern NS is lower in latitude. They get nasty cold in winter
but I bet where NS is surrounded by the Atlantic, it's not as bad. Maybe?
@earl-of-trumps saidThat is where I lived growing up, beautiful country and before computers etc., Families were big and we had enough boys in our community to make to baseball teams. Girls didn't play back then. I believe they now have a girls baseball team who are very good.

Yes, in winter we are right next to the Atlantic Ocean in that area growing up and their would be a Northwest wind that was really raw. We played hockey outside in -30 Weather. We would be down to our sweaters as we wore layers of clothes.

@very-rusty saidAll this talk of cold weather is making me think a wee dram might be in order...well except for VR for whom me have some nice hot chocolate to warm the innards.👍

A hot Chocolate sounds nice thank you, overcast here today, suppose to have rain. I can feel it in the air.

@very-rusty saidToday is our National Day, 6th June, which we celebrate in different ways. My daughter will take me to an Indian restaurant - that is Sweden too. 🙂

@torunn saidWell as luck would have it, I was speaking with Vikram Vij the other day and he sAid he’d be honoured to cook up some lovely Indian food for us as a Special Guest chef here at the Tavern.👍

@earl-of-trumps saidYes, but when you grow up with the weather as a kid, you really get use to it. We do have 4 seasons consisting of 3 months each according to the calendar, but mother nature has the final say on that. 🙂 Just as cold where Stees lives!
@Very-Rusty
-30?? Holy jeeezus. Looks like I was wrong on that account lol

@very-rusty saidNot anymore since relocating here in the tropics but when I lived in Montreal we had some serious low temps. I remember skiing at the top of Mount Tremblant back in time and the temp up there being -50. There was only one run that day and it was quick.😲👍

@great-big-stees saidYes, I've heard further west they have to plug in their vehicles over night so the cold doesn't kill their batteries. I didn't know you had moved to the tropics. What part?
