Q: Is Carlsen at his best better than Kasparov at his best?
A. Carlsen is probably the best lager in the world. I've never drunk a pint of Kasparov. Hic!

Q. What is your favourite short poem? (Please type/paste it)

A. Here's an unattributed one found on many websites:

"Fleas
Adam
Had 'em."

Q. Who are they referring to when they say the word "they"?

Q. Who are they referring to when they say the word "they"?
A. The Sri Lankan cricket time, nine times out of ten. The others: Gywneth Paltrow.

Q. What are your personal thoughts on the terrifyingly thin boundary between dignity and regret?

A: I am always enthusiastic about a band called Phish when they tour and I try to listen to all their shows within 24 hours of them playing them. They've never played the same set list twice in 30 years and there's a large improvised element in what they play. But I always more or less get burnt out doing this around about the time the tours end. I week after the final show, I am unable to listen to them anymore. I do, however, return with enthusiasm restored when the next tour starts.

A: Was that in any way interesting to you?

A: Only in that I did "look them up".

A: I'd say my ears are up for anything except - for the most part - things with genre labels like country & western, hip-hop, smooth jazz, techno and ones that have got the word "metal" somewhere in the label.

Q: Could Personal Realities ~ beefed up with lashings of Confirmation Bias ~ conjured up by the internet and given momentum and legitimacy by the very withering ridicule they attract and often deserve ~ become more of a threat to democracy as time passes?

A: Hopefully we are smart enough to disseminate the fluff from the fact.

A: Yes. No. Wait. Right. I see. Good question. Who's to say? It depends. Or maybe not.

A: Possibly a similar number as there are lengths of a piece of string.

Q: They say there are only seven basic plots that stories can have (or combine). Which one is your most preferred?

A. If so, it hasn't yet been mentioned on the news here.

Q. If someone says: "I write with my ears." and someone else says: "I listen with my eyes." How would the next person say he/she reads?
