Relax, uncle, it's a serious question, dammit: what service are you talking about?
Is it firemen day, police day, doctor day, nurse day, 911 ambulance driver day, or teachers' day?
There's a lot of people who deserve your thanks for what they do, you know.
So, spit out. What day is it*?
* Not all of us in this site are yanks, you know, so you gotta be more specific.

But hey, who am I to question Hollywood 101?

I"m not a veteran, but I think of Memorial Day as a thanks to all American vets. I'm proud to march in our local parade and provide patriotic music with my dixieland band, I also run sound for the speeches, and our Governer of our state (Ed Rendel, Pa,) comes to provide his thoughts every year. That one day, I feel like we're the best town in America. Just as a fanfare for the common man, who stepped up to be a hero.
