helsinki has a dialect of it's own, which is completely impossible to understand for other finns. it's about 25% finnish, 25% german, 25% russian and 25% swedish. but it's mostly spoken by old geezers and others who were born here. but I doubt anyone would speak it to a foreigner. and yea, probably peole will change to english immediately when they meet foreigners, or swedish if applicable.

oh, I'm from near pori originally. living in helsinki nowadays. yea, happy may 1st, or 'vappu' as we call it. 🙂
pori's hockey team 'ässät' lost national league finals yesterday, so they might be a bit under the weather. 🙂
