Dave Strijbos was WC once,in 1986,on a 125cc Cagiva motorcycle.He was 2nd three times,'85 '87 '88 and 4th in 1993.
Dave never was the best.Winning the WC title in 125cc does not mean you're the best rider in the world.Odd as it may sound. That little american,Ricky Carmichael,is the best rider in the world and he has never won a WC title. The best riders don't compete in the world championship, they ride in america, getting big bucks.

One of my Mums best friends is Barry Humphries(alter ego Dame Edna Everage) she's got a pic of him sitting on our donkey many years ago π. So I was brought up on a menu of Sir Les, Sandy and Dame Edna π. Barry's a really nice guy away from the stage π
I've met the Unser's (car racers) but I am not sure which ones, I was pretty young. My grandfather owned a racetrack in Albuquerque, NM where they raced. My grandfather also has pictures with Mickey Rooney, Arnold Swartzenegger (sp), um, Tiny Tim, Zorro (my dad was given zorro's whip by him when he was a kid), Rin Tin Tin (if dogs count), I'll have to think of who all else. He (my grandfather) was an entertainer in Abq and ran the Sport and Home shows where he would book famous people. He met Arnold when he was a body builder though, before he was a movie star. He also worked with Evil Kinevil (sp) way back when. Got screwed over by him the way I hear it.

My Dad went to school with David Bowie, he even went to his birthday party once. Another 80's singer whose name I always forget went to the same school, but was in the year above.
One of Bjorn Again (ABBA tribute band) lived in my village for a while, as did Kevin Whately (so I'm told).
