I once threw a basketball in the face of Mark Watten (I think that's his name). He's a trainer of a Dutch football team, or so I'm led to believe. He used to be our sports trainer at school. Total prat, he deserved a broken nose, alas, I was just kicked out the lesson.
I once played a spot of football with one or other British indie band while we were waiting for the concert hall in Utrecht or the Hague to fill up. I think it was the La's, but I really can't say for sure.
I'm friends with Danny, the best guitarist in the world. But he's not famous...yet.
Shane McGowan (former singer of the Pogues) once spilled beer on me from the stage. Or maybe he didn't. I can't really be sure.
I think I remember trying to chat up a girl who said she was Bette Midler's agent. She probably wasn't, I was probably drunk, and since I can't remember how it ended, it probably ended in failure.
hmm... lets see...
GEEK POWER! Larry Lessig was a professor of mine. And we're still in touch occasionally. Actually, I had a few other law school professors who were either semi-famous or in the background of great events. One, for example, was Archie Cox's assistant in the Nixon thing.
Uh..
MUSIC INDUSTRY POWER! I briefly was Michael Ray's manger (member of Kool and the Gang, also member of Sun Ra Arkestra. Leader of the Cosmic Krewe. Vaguely associated with Phish...)
RICH PEOPLE POWER! err. I went to school with George Soros' son. Unfortunately, I never had the sense to get to know him. Doh.
FRIEND-OF-FRIEND POWER! A friend of mine was neighbors with, and apparently once babysat by as a kid, Mr. T.

I probably should not mention this for security purposes, but nobody will know who I am so here goes: I am very good friends with the Queen in England. Yes it's true!
I first started playing with her at weekends when I was only ten years old in a huge country house in Lincolnshire, and since then we have grown very close. So close indeed, that despite (i must admit) having NEVER kissed her; I have however, mated with her on numerous occasions. Sometimes I even sacrifice her if I am a few pawns up, looking for a quick resolution. That's what friends are for, isn't it?
