Oh dear. I don't see why ethanol can be more harmful than bleaches to you or anyone (unless one is an alcoholic). But that's at least one thing in common between muslim nations and the US, "the use of ethanol is strictly prohibited."

Nice start to the thread I skipped on after page 5 to catch up, but I'm assuming the rest was as nice:

Hangers - Ditto

I have a door / window checking routine before I leave my house which would probably have me commited if someone was to watch it. When I'm going away this extends further to appliances (including the switches on plug sockets regardless of if they are in use or not).

I always carry a Handkerchief, and a pot of Carmex - both in left trouser pocket. Both are used only occasionally.

I arrange the notes in my wallet in ascending order. All the bank cards have a place - this is fairly arbitrary at first, but then becomes fixed after the first time I place them in the wallet.

If I'm leaving the house for more than an hour or so I will always carry a drink.

Not anymore, but for years I had to walk over paving slabs the way a knight would move forwards - that's 2 up, 1 across.

I always return home to check my front door is locked after the first attempt to begin any journey. This one is a good indication of my level of "life stress" - the more stressed I am, the more times I end up having to go back. I can completely forget if I locked the door within 5 seconds of having done it.

If a stereo has Bass & Treble settings these are always set to Bass 2, Treble 5 (mega bonus points to anyone who can say where that comes from).

Thankfully, I can't recall any workplace based OCD's.

Amnesia can sometimes be a blessing.

Same here with the appliance/door checking. Also, I almost always have a drink with me unless I'm only going to be out for a few min.

More often than not now I carry food too. It's not OCD there though as I'm training more, so just hungrier more!

One of the things I loved in Japan is that they have vending machines with cold and warm drinks (sometimes also soup) at every second corner. I almost never have a drink with me, but I often should, so it's really neat to be able to get a drink wherever you may be.

My parents just sent me pictures of all the books I still have at their place, so that I can tell them which of them I want to keep. One of them is standing upside down. Argh! (Maybe I should photoshop it...)

I know. That's gotta be irritating. I like my books all arranged by height, all right-side up (of course).

Argh..you're all freaks 😉
I'm a hoarder. My bookshelves are in no particular order; upside down, back to front etc. My clothes aren't even hung on hangers they're over chairs, on the bed, over doors etc. I eat any shape of food and don't wash in any particular order.
I do have a friend though that checks everything is switched off a zillion times before he leaves the house and my dad has his tins in the kitchen in a certain order. Every now and then I mess them up just to wreck his head 🙂

Surely the door/appliance checking isn't OCD, just good ol' safety?
My biggest fear is that my house will burn down, so I do exactly the same with the appliances... I go a step further and usually switch off the main isolator, but this doesn't always fly with my wife if she has to get back to a cold geyser.

I'm looking into some home automation stuff so I can hook up a contactor in my mains power and can use a web interface switch it on a few hours before I get home, so my wife can have a bath.
A small price to pay for never worrying about electrical fires again!

The only real OCD I have is the bog roll needs to go "under", not "over".

Gah!

You mean it drops down against the wall side of the holder?

I'm an over person myself... keep it off the walls!

Never, it's at least an inch away from the wall man. You need to invest in holders that bolt onto the wall, those built-in ones are crap!

Me too. Sounds crazy to have it dropping down against the wall!

Much easier to simply put them the right way.

I have a bolt on one!

This is how it should always be done... it's in the instructions dammit!
