Yeah! How dare people have negative opinions... they should be outlawed in this day and age! 😉
Anyone but Geldoff presenting it would make me happy, I just don't rate him as a presenter. They way he talks makes me want to change the channel everytime I see him on tv, which is a shame as I'm all for the idea of Live 8.
One of the most worthy causes to happen in recent years and you just write it off cos one of the front mens voices annoys you.
Well, I hope when you flick away you enjoy your daily dose of eastenders, i'll be watching the music.
You'll both be in front of a tv when it happens then.
I guess watching it on TV does help: there's the advertising funding to think of. I wonder if that's the contribution the tv viewer makes: watching the adverts. Would it make a difference do you think if you recorded the show and watched it later, skipping the adverts? (There may well be no adverts I suppose).
Originally posted by Bosse de NageI try not to watch adverts anyway, i always flick. But the cunning tv producers have started syncing up all the advert times on different channels so it makes it hard to avoid them.

I tell a lie, i'm actually not going to be watching it, theres a low key live8 event organised here in dublin that i'm heading too.. But if i wasn't going to that i'd be watching it, will probably get it on repeat or recorded.

Well, hope u enjoy it, should be amazing seeing pink floyd back performing again.
Anyone know anyone who's heading?
Shane McGowan and the Popes are playing..🙂[/b]You'd better take all your Pogues & Popes cds as a precaution--that way you can always listen to his voice on headphones if he happens to pass out on stage within the first 20 minutes. Good old Shane, he's the world's most pataphysical drunk. Maybe he's the right Irishman for Live Aid!

"Awareness" ???
I don't need a bunch of spoiled, crappy rockstars to tell me that people are starving across the world. I'm already "aware" of it, thank you.
Charge some money, take all the profits and buy muchos sacks of wheat and rice, then dump it on the starving populace. There's a cause I can sink my teeth into. Not this "awareness" self-gratifying, phony BS.

"By doubling aid, fully cancelling debt, and delivering trade justice for Africa, the G8 could change the future for millions of men, women and children."
Democracies only respond to public opinion so maybe its the politicians that need to be made aware that WE care..
Already the aid to africa has been doubled, arguably cos all the publicity live8 has been drumming up.
And i'd prefer to watch spoiled, crappy rockstars than spoilt crappy politicians.
