"By doubling aid, fully cancelling debt, and delivering trade justice for Africa, the G8 could change the future for millions of men, women and children."
Already the aid to africa has been doubled, arguably cos all the publicity live8 has been drumming up.

the others would be entertaining but nothing special....
can`t think of 1 band in the SA line-up I would like to see... then again I only know like 3 bands there if that
*sigh speaks for itself doesn`t it....[/b]I actually think the Jo'burg line up will have better continuity: if I was into Bayete I'd probably enjoy all the other acts, too, whereas I honestly couldn't be bothered with listening to half the London acts. It'd probably be worth going just to see Pink Floyd though.

A promise was made by the EU to double current aid to africa.
Mostly cos of all the publicity about Live8 on tv i reckon, politicians want to curry public favour after all.

If fact, he didn't just capitulate. He decided that public opinion was so strong after the show, that he actully declared the whole idea his own.

I saw him in Amsterdam and it's the only concert I've ever been to that when you walked in you were handed a free pint of beer!
Originally posted by shavixmirBet you could have filled it up later if you just held it in front of him.

Did he sing at all? Two friends of mine have attended concerts...in the one he swayed upright but was incomprehensible...in the other he went offstage for a rest after 20 minutes & the rest of the band had to cover him. As life-long fans my friends were understandably disappointed...

By then he will be out of office anyway, if people haven't already forgotten about his promise 😕
