I have no doubt you are unable to recognize how you've been digging a hole for your own entrapment by faithfully feeding your ego. At this point (meaning now) you are no longer in control and in charge of your own mental health and sense of well being.
Your ego has become your master, and it demands to be fed every day.
This is sad. I've seen it happen to friends and relatives. But ultimately it is justice being served after years of sowing the wind.
So like it or not, you will get what you give.
