What's the likelyhood of a player on this site, rated 2000(ish), who doesn't belong to a chess club ?
Is this normal ?
Lots of countries cannot afford chess clubs or do not have that many clubs.
I'm very glad we have a great club. Best in Canada and we aren't even the capital city of Canada.
O ya!
I think to get around 2000 you will have had to of played players of simlar ratings quite regularly. Best place to do that is at clubs....in real life im yet to meet a strong player who wasnt part of a club at one time or another. Althought the internet does seem to support a large number of 2000+ players that dont seem to play competitively in real life........imo not all of them are for real 😛

Suplimentary.
What if that player didn't know what OTB meant ?
I guess OTB is pretty well known.....a 2000 should have been knocking around chess, its culture and terms for quite a bit.
Edit - Chess clubs arent a must, could just enter tournaments etc
Originally posted by BedlamThis is a hypothetical situation, but yes, his/her first language would be English.

If i posted a hypothetical study of a game, and how it corresponds to the moves Fritz makes (no names included), would that go against the TOS ?
I didn't make the analysis, someone else did.

Although it does sound intresting.

I am not a chess head, but a public discussion about a hypothetical situation, can surely do nobody any harm.
