Hypothetical evidence in a hypothetical argument should be discounted ???
should buses be discounted on a motorway ?
Truth is, one game is seldom sufficient. And as we saw with Danialov's accusation of Kramnik, match-ups should be verified independently before they can be accepted as gospel.
Leaving out the accused's name does alter what this is: A public accusation on an RHP forum. I suggest you quit while you are ahead.

but - the hypothetical case should be discarded
... (and kept in mind for the future) 😉
Originally posted by huckleberryhoundI'm not a 2000 player however I am getting close (I nearly typed 'got' as in past tense), but have to say that I feel EXTREMELY flattered by my current rating (1973) and I can forsee a correction coming as I have had a great run that can't continue. I have only been a member of a chess club for just over a year, although I have to say that I now prefer otb to cc, so I would say it's possible yes. Particularly if someone lives in a remote area where it may be difficult to play with players of the same ability.
What's the likelyhood of a player on this site, rated 2000(ish), who doesn't belong to a chess club ?
Is this normal ?
Edit: I also had to ask what otb meant here some time ago (I forget exactly when), I just had never heard the expression before. Because vefore I joined the chess club I didn't communicate with chess players other than on here, which was when I kept noticing 'otb' and asked what it was. (I guess my rating at the time was probably about 1600ish)
Originally posted by huckleberryhoundSend your information to the mods. I have a great deal of confidence in these guys and if he/she is using an engine they will be caught and barred. Yes, it takes some time, but here's the nice point:
This is a hypothetical situation, but yes, his/her first language would be English.
If i posted a hypothetical study of a game, and how it corresponds to the moves Fritz makes (no names included), would that go against the TOS ?
I didn't make the analysis, someone else did.
Every time they cheat using an engine it's like writing history. Any move they make is a record stored forever in RHP's database... so the more they cheat the more proof there is against them.😏
Incidentally, I've noticed a lot of players who used to make 2600 caliber moves against me in the past year are now falling apart and making stupid moves. Possibly the reason this is happening is because these guys used an engine and then got scared they would be caught and stopped using it. Of course I could be mistaken, but I also noticed their ratings dropped over 200 points.
We have the mods to thank for this.
