I'm waiting for Nakamura to develop. At the pace he's on, he'll be challenging the big guys in a few years.
I've always been disappointed that Judit Polgar didn't reach W.C. level. Maybe with Kaspy gone she'll suddenly become stronger and win!
Bummer though. I'd have liked to see him spank Kramnik in a W.C. Tournament.

Yes Car Jackin' is quite impressive as well. Nakamura spanked him in their face off this year, but of course kar is quite a bit younger.

According to Mig Greengard's Daily Dirt Blog, Kasparov is loosely considering training Magnus Carlsen! Mig is friends with Kasparov, and the fact that it is a possibility is confirmed from Kaspy himself. I can only imagine how powerful Carlsen could be with Kasparov's guidance.

I agree. I even think a lot of IM's could beat Fischer now. He was the man in his time, but his time is long gone.
As for American challengers, I'm telling you. Watch Hikaru Nakamura. He was the youngest ever to achieve master rating (10 years, 2 months), although I'm not sure if that record still holds. He recently won the US Championship, and a ...[text shortened]...
Right now he is in the top 100 players in the world and still very much in development.

Hikaru Nakamura is not a English name. It seems more like it is Japanese. If he came from japan it is not the same thing as Fischer. Fischer is a real American. If it is the same to you then I guess that Bruce Lee is not Chinese.
