i would love to see some amateur guy make headlines, that is of course presuming that you are an amateur, its will be great for Scottish chess nad an awesome event, will it be played with score sheets and the like or just kind of like blitz, surely he will have loads of people to get through there will not be much time for formalities.

Score sheets are not required but some people like to record their game out of interest. I've watched Aagaard do a simul previously and he made it a fun event rather than too serious.

I'm sure this was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I guess it bears repeating. Based on a quick look at a couple of your games, I think you need to start off learning the basic opening principles. You can find these principles in a lot of places - books, on the web, etc. If you don't know where to look, here's a few web sources to get you started.
