I looked at this game Game 3533228 The Traxler seems to only work because kings side becomes weak. It seems that this can be blocked in many ways like maybe just opening the 2 knights defense. I use to be in a class were all we did was figure out brillant moves and then afterwards find counter attacks for them, Now As I understand this to start this Traxler Variation is W.E4 B E5 This is of course one of the most common Defensed against whites central attack. Then white will conutine with W.Nf3 W.Nc6 As so Countined... W.Bc4 B.Nf6 W.Ng5 B.Bc5 W.Nxf7 B.Bxf2+ W.Kxf2 B.Nxe4+ W.Kg1 B.Qh4 Now this is my Counter attack for this move. It can be alittle touchy in some areas of the board but overall I think It does good against the traxler do you agree test it out see what you get.

I don't know if anybody heard of the line 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.Ng5 Nxe4!?
Of course, if 5.Nxe4, then 5. ... d5, forking the bishop and the knight.
Even though in theory, white has the advantage, it still has surprise value.
