@petewxyz saidWhere do you get off telling other people what their desires should be?
On delicate matters such as spiritual issues it seems important that communication should be respectful and based around a genuine desire to find the motivation and meaning behind posts by other people. Questions should be from a position of curiosity. The questioner should not presume to have a certain knowledge of the meaning of the poster and they certainly should not rep ...[text shortened]... itle Spirituality Forum to be deemed as anything other than misleading. Please feel free to discuss.
@bigdoggproblem saidI said it seemed important. I didn't say it should be that way, but it seems to me it should. By all means feel free to discuss what you think?

@petewxyz saidYou seem to be wanting to deter or inhibit others from expressing themselves and their ideas as they see fit. Meanwhile, nobody is trying to do that to you.

@petewxyz saidNo, I get it from the whole relentless self-pitying glass-chinned schtick you've been waving ever since you made a fool of yourself by saying a "true" atheist is one who ends up a theist, this thread merely being the latest dreary bout of wound-licking double-downery.
You get that from 'By all means feel free to discuss what you think?'
@petewxyz saidIt smacks of thought-control and I have a strong negative reaction to it.

It also smacks of censorship.
Sure, you could impose heavy-handed moderation so that people only say what is "appropriate" and only have the attitudes that they are "supposed" to have, but I would find such a forum completely uninteresting, and not worthy of my time.

@petewxyz saidAnd why not? You are just repeating the same deflection & denunciation as a result of happened over and over and over and over again. It even started on the thread in question. You kept repeating yourself there as well. Now you have started a whole thread about it and are repeating it over and over again once more.
Repetition

Hear! Hear! 🙂
Sir, for me, I'm basically ignoring you because of your condescending attitude.
The definition of condescending to me = Pompous a$$.
@bigdoggproblem saidThat's a whole other issue. This is me saying to @divegeester and @FMF that instead of being relentless in their certainty that they know what other people mean, I think they should be respectfully curious about what the other is trying to say.

If you want a thread on what is appropriate censorship start one, but that is certainly not what I am raising here.
@petewxyz saidThanks for your advice but I don't think you are a poster whose mindmap I am seeking to emulate.

@petewxyz saidYou had 8 pages. Thread 186093. You spent them contorting yourself - digging a deeper and deeper hole - because your priority seemed to be insisting that you had been misunderstood and hadn't made a mistake, rather than making yourself understood. And here you are again. Blaming others.
