When I put this to you in response to your revelations about the abuse you suffered: "Well your unpleasant experience has certainly taken its toll on you in interpersonal terms as a conversationalist and as a promoter of your current beliefs manner and rhetorical tricks are like those of someone who is still trapped in a cult."
Your reply was "It's one thing ...[text shortened]... were maltreated as a child and youth in your behaviour to this day. Maybe you weren't unscathed.

For someone to be diagnosed as suffering from psychological abuse they need to be diagnosed with the following symptoms: "psychological trauma, including anxiety, chronic depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder." Not everyone that experiences a power imbalance or a controlling environment suffers psychological abuse. There is a power imbalance and a ...[text shortened]... nts ever complain that they suffer psychological abuse. You obviously suck at being a shrink. 😛

So, Fetchmyjunk/dj2becker, was the story about being in the cult in fact a made-up thing that you are now desperately trying to distance yourself from?
Originally posted by dj2beckerYou described the abuse to us in some detail. You even provided corroborating evidence at that web site.

Was anybody else in your family abused by the cult or by any of its leaders?

According to your definition my classroom is a situation of psychological abuse. Would you say you were psychologically abused at school or at uni or at work for that matter?
You described a situation of psychological abuse. 'You' did that. No one else, you. - You then linked to a site that provided additional evidence of cultist abuse.
If you truly escaped such a situation without trauma then i'm pleased for you. Although your own words seem to suggest otherwise:
"It's one thing to get out of a cult but it is another thing to get the cult out of you."

Anyone who questioned the rules of this church were excommunicated and everyone in the church believed they were going to hell and shunned them like lepers. I was born into the church and for 24 years I believed that everything they taught was the absolute truth. Parents would disown their children if they decided to leave.
