The Vedas are the authority on all things religious and spiritual.
The Vedas are eternal supporting the eternal Godhead.
Pseudo religion of the likes of Islam Judaism and Christianity coming along to us in current recent history - and giving us animal slaughter cannot be the authority.
These religions have rejected the eternal nature of the soul as well.
They have rejected reincarnation.
Why have they done this?
Because by rejecting reincarnation and telling people they have only one life - they now can get inside peoples heads emotionally by fear - informing them they must choose the church over hell.
By rejecting reincarnation they now have emotional control of persons - because persons now believe they only have one life to get it right or wrong with God.
The Vedas do not use fear by teaching falsity.

that time. It does not apply today. So there is nothing wrong here.

mind because of your ignorance or lack of understanding.
Without the true authority we would never know.
