@kellyjay saidSo why are you contorting yourself to assert that I was "never a Christian"? And why are you asking me if "Jesus Christ is in [my] life"? I am an agnostic atheist as you know full well.
My beliefs about you or anyone else here are not necessary; what is, the only thing that is, is Jesus Christ in your life?
@kellyjay saidDo you accept that, according to your own line of reasoning, even you can't say for sure that you are a Christian?
What I believe about you now, or back then wouldn't matter; some know the Lord because Jesus redeemed them who I would think would end up in Hell will be saved, those I thought who appeared sincere who were only acting out what they thought they should without ever turning to Christ will find they were only acting out and never turned to Christ.

@fmf saidNo, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to those that come to Him. You don't have the Spirit of God; you don't belong, He is real, did the Holy Spirit ever come and live in you, if not you never knew Him.
This is yet another slab of generic faith speak. The specific question was this: So nobody here, including yourself, can know whether your faith is genuine because you haven't died still-believing yet?
Do you agree that you cannot know for sure whether your own faith is impregnable and enduring until you die with that faith [and not lose it in the meantime], and until then one cannot be sure - and even you cannot be sure - if your faith is real?
2 Corinthians 1
ESV
21 And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, 22 and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
@kellyjay saidIf that's a flaw, then don't you have it too? You're so pumped up with your religion you believe you can reach back into someone's life and change what they believed in the past.
You are pretty full of yourself and your opinions about others.
Do you know what to be hoisted by your own petard means and why it might apply to you?
@divegeester saidWe all struggle in this life, there are stresses in our lives that we go through temptations we have to overcome, but if we are walking with the Lord, it is He, not us, that matters. You want to turn this into something about us; it isn't; we are not saved because we believe, we are saved by Jesus Christ His grace through faith, and if we waver one moment He is faithful to get us to the next, He can see us through. In the end is Jesus Christ, not us, that matters.
If you lost your faith up to the point of death, would you be cast into hell as if you had never believed?
Many people give up their lives instead of denying Him because what they have is real, more important than their own lives; many give up just because someone may dislike them, don't get what they want, or think God is treating them unfairly. The only thing you need to know is Jesus Christ; if you don't know Him, if you just hope you are saved, I'd say you have some prayer to do because you are only going through the motions.

@great-big-stees saidIt served the purposes of uniting people, setting up structures in society, developing trust and cooperation.
What was it’s purpose, in the first place?🤔
@fmf saidOK.👍
It served the purposes of uniting people, setting up structures in society, developing trust and cooperation.
@fmf saidWorked out well, didn’t it?😥

@kellyjay saidAnother slab of generic faith speak. I'll try again

If you were to lose your faith completely in - say - the last year of your life, according to your beliefs now, do you believe you would no longer be "justified" and would be "thrown into hell" after your death?
@fmf saidWe don't need something like Jesus Christ in our lives; it must be Jesus Christ. If it were real, then you'd not be able to deny it. The phony, fake, heart far from God so-called Christians are the merely walking around without ever coming to God, their religion, their community of like-minded people, everyone can spot, they act one way in some places and another in other places, there is nothing authentic about them. The sad thing about them is they are all self-deceived; nothing about them is real; it is all just a head game; they have just enough religion to make them think they are good with God without ever getting good with God.
The difference is I believed it was real back then and now I obviously don't think it was.

@kellyjay saidNone of this substantiates your assertion that I was "never a Christian". Why is it so important to you to make the assertion? Are you talking past me and kind of virtue signalling to fellow Christians?
