Apathist: Jesus wasn't the first demi-god, for example. Mary didn't give us our first virgin birth. And on and on and on.

"Virgin births" are ubiquitous across numerous mythologies.

That doesn't prove that Mary's wasn't the first.

What do all the virgin birth myths that predate the Christian virgin birth myth prove or disprove?

Ask apathist, he claims that Christians 'borrowed' from other religions yet he can't give me any reference to his claims.

I'm asking you. You are the one who is suggesting that all the virgin birth myths that predate the Christian virgin birth myth don't prove that Mary's wasn't the first. I'm asking you about what you have said. I am not asking apathist about what he said.

I am only suggesting that apathist did not reference his historical claims. That is all.

I am asking you about what you said. Which was: That doesn't prove that Mary's wasn't the first. ...where "that" was a list of virgin birth myths that predate the Christian virgin birth myth. How does that list not "...prove that Mary's wasn't the first.. Explain what you said. Don't talk about what apathist said. You said something to me; I am asking you about it.

I was referring to your claim:

And I gave you a link that demonstrated that demonstrates that there are many virgin birth myths that predate the Christian virgin birth myth. You believe that what I put to you doesn't prove that Mary's wasn't the first?

It doesn't prove that Mary's virgin birth was 'borrowed' from other stories. And that it didn't in fact happen.

And yet you insist that all the 'great flood' myths around the world in a range of non-Abrahamic cultures and religions borrow their accounts of the event from something your god figure supposedly did?

Are all the virgin birth stories around the world down through history true as far as you are aware, or do you think the Mary virgin birth story is the only true one?

I have reason to believe that Mary's virgin birth story is true. If you have reason to believe that any of the other virgin births are true feel free to share it.
