this is almost as incredulous as the Islamic belief that Christ will return and appear above the mosque at Medina, a Muslim for all to behold!
====================================

You should know that Moslem's adjust the Bible to accomodate Islamic beliefs.

These variations do not make the Bible untrue.

Manny
Thanks Manny. I know and I wanted galvaston to tell us.

This conversation though is developing into more of a "chat".

I am more accustomed to substantial posts. The chit chat style of this thread I will soon weary of.

Not you're fault.

nor do they make the claim that Christ will physically stand on literal Jerusalem true either, what is it about "Jerusalem above", "New Jerusalem" and "spiritual Israel", that you do not understand?

Just look up in other language referances and you'll see what the wording meant. It's in a spritual sence, not a literal one.

You, on the other hand, have not refuted that He will come back physically.

Robbie,

I appreciate your perception at least to your view. These matters take time to explain. They do not lend themselves to chat room one or two liners.

Do you know what I mean ?

So I think if you have, for me at least, a desire for some substantial explanations maybe you can open up another thread on those specific issues.

My posts are longer. I don't like to chat out inadaquate one or two line replies on involved subjects like "Jerusalem above" or "New Jerusalem".

ok Jaywill, but you need to find a happy medium, somewhere between 'chat room text', sized posts, a 'reams and reams of scroll like posts', 🙂

by the way, when Jesus entered the temple in Nazareth? he read from the scroll of Isaiah, Isaiah 29:18

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been reared; and, according to his custom on the sabbath day, he entered into the synagogue, and he stood up to read.  So the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed him, and he opened the scroll and found the place where it was written:  “Jehovahs spirit is upon me, because he anointed me to declare good news to the poor, he sent me forth to preach a release to the captives and a recovery of sight to the blind, to send the crushed ones away with a release,  to preach Jehovahs acceptable year.”  With that he rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were intently fixed upon him.  Then he started to say to them: “Today this scripture that you just heard is fulfilled.”

how long was that scroll and how long would it have taken Christ to find the verse? 🙂

Neither "Jerusalem above" nor "New Jerusalem" nor "Spiritual Israel" preclude that Jesus Christ will not physically be enthroned in Jerusalem, reigning over the globe from that place.

In all three cases, they simply do not negate the reigning of Jesus from that city in the Mideast, especially during the 1,000 year millennial kingdom before the eternal age.

galvaston, you're boasting that people are not answering your questions. And you are pretending to be patient and ask questions another way.

Please stop posturing. I gave you a long post with definite passages on Christ's physical return. And references to the spiritual state of Christ then and now also accompanied them.

I think you just don't like the ...[text shortened]... physically stand upon this world in Jerusalem and establish His throne in that physical city.
Finally..Thank you. That's all I asked for was a simple answer.

Isaiah 11:1-11 speak of the Restoration to take place on the earth.

Jesus refers to this restoration in Matthew 19:28 and says that His twelve disciples will sit on twelve thrones with Him and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

Jesus refers to Himself sitting on "the throne of His glory". That will be a throne on this planet and not in heaven.

Jesus again refers to Himself sitting on "the throne of His glory" in Matthew 25:31. There He speaks of judging the sheep nations and the goat nations.

These are nations that are physically alive when He returns. They are not being resurreced. Physically. from the throne of His glory in the Holy Land Jesus will decide the judgment of living nations.

The restoration is also refered to in Acts 3.

Many other verses refer to this time of restoration of the earth to its Edenic situation during the 1,000 year millennial. Christ will use that time to fulfill some promises to the nation of Israel. And He will reign from Jerusalem on that throne of His glory.

"Jerusalem above" or "heavenly Jerusalem" does not negate this part of Bible prophecy.

And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the Jehovah Witness Church..

Rev 12: 7-12 speaks of the Devil and that he had been hurled down to the earth. This means he was now confined to the earth and no longer had free choise of where he went.
Any ideas on when this happened or will happen? Will this happen before or after Jesus comes down to earth to rule, as you say...
