A few weeks ago here you seemed to come out in favour of the values of 17th-century English judge and misogynist Sir Matthew Hale. You seemed to be so fumbling with resentment and anger, it was difficult to tell. Can you put any dates on the periods of waxing and waning?

Is it morally sound to execute homosexuals?

So "moral decline" is pretty much an arbitrary claim.

It's an abomination, of course. The question for josephw, though, is this: if the morality of executing homosexuals has changed, where does that leave his claim that what is and isn't morally sound is unchanged and unchanging?

The OP is a hypothetical for the purposes of examining the link between morality and crime. Read how the OP is written again.

It arose from the exchanges on this thread between me and josephw. So, yes, it is up for discussion.

The OP is a thought exercise. It's not a truth claim. It's a hypothetical question. Read it again.
