Why would a strong and knowledgeable Christian even bring up questions like this? It does nothing to promote the Bible and the honor he should have for it. All the scriptures are inspired by God. We cannot decide what we take seriously and blow other parts off as if we have the wisdom or option to do that....

but i am dismissing the idea that all of it is god's word. that he bothered to descend down from heaven and influence humans to live 900 years but now he cannot be bothered to come down and cure a 9 year old of cancer.
i am accepting the idea that god loved us so much that he gave his only son so that we can be saved and therefore i am dismissing the idea that all through the OT He committed mass genocide so that one lone tribe of nomads would essentially wipe many other tribes and reach the promissed land.
i am dismissing the idea that all the world was so wicked that he deemed it necessary to wipe it out except for one single family. i am dismissing the idea that an omnipotent being couldn't simply wish everyone gone(blinking them out of reality) and instead made a flood so that the whole earth would be destroyed.
i am dismissing a lot of ideas. i am not dismissing the bible. but if you think in black and white and believe that if you deny 1% of the bible you deny it all and all of the christian faith then again i must feel sorry for you

1Tim 2:4 speaks of accurate knowledge and coming to know it. If you rely on your own understanding you will never attain it.
2Tim 3:7 explains that many will never attain it. So if your at a point in your life that you don't accept the Bible as a whole, then much more study and prayer is needed to get to a point that you do accept the complete Bible and come to a correct understanding of the issues you do not understand ....
