@kellyjay saidLiking or disliking people is irrelevant to engaging in good faith debate kellyjay, it’s more the stuff of the playground. Man up.
Duke, I agrue with you all the time, and hardly ever find myself agreeing with you, but I do like you, why, I don't have any idea.! 🙂 You more than likely lose points with some for that too, apologies. LOL
Besides the issue I have with Ghost of a duke extends beyond the tiny enclosure of this website.
@divegeester saidHate and fear are the path to the dark side...
There is no one I’ve come across at RHP whom I despise more than you.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidI neither hate nor fear you 😄

@ghost-of-a-duke saidWhy?
Then perhaps avoid words like 'despise.'
There more things in life which I despise than just you and your lies, but I don’t hate or fear them either.
@divegeester saidDespise and hate are synonyms.

Good job you never went into teaching.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidBut they aren’t the same.
Despise and hate are synonyms.
“Hate “ is a clumsy word which carries an element of lack of cognition, anger, spite and negative reflexed energy. You’ll be familiar with this emotive sensation yourself I’m sure.
“Despise” is a more nuanced intuitive word than “hate” and is used to describe a more controlled sense of revulsion, disdain and disgust.
Hope that clarifies; but you go on thinking I “fear” you if it helps 🙂
@ghost-of-a-duke saidI find other people’s offspring to be often objectionable. But I don’t “hate “ or “despise” them.
Good job you never went into teaching.
@divegeester said'Despise' is actually a stronger form of hate. For example, you might say, 'I don't just hate him, I despise him.' Whereas it would make no sense to say, 'I don't just despise him, I hate him.'
But they aren’t the same.

@divegeester saidMaybe drop 'despise' from your vocabulary, at least until you learn how to use it correctly.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidIt a good job you’ve spent the last 25 years dreading your team meetings rather than going into teaching.

@divegeester saidNot your best riposte. Have another go. Maybe mention the cap.
