But physics is only accepted by people believing in physics and chemistry is only accepted by people believing in chemistry etc.
You for example do not accept most of the following branches of science:
Astronomy
Geology
Biology
Archaeology
Cosmology
Should they all also have separate classes?
..and heck yes, keep it separated, it is too much to be combined in my opinion.

What do I think about what? I asked you what do you think should be done about these people you call "child abusers". You haven't said yet.

When it comes to this - my mind goes crazy. I think physical and psychological child abusers must be locked away forever. There is no difference actually when it comes to a child been abused physically as this is also abused psychological in the end - I think.
....and now I am asking you, what do you think should be done?
Originally posted by Proper Knobas you are very well aware PK, it amounts to a materialistic point of view which all of

Have you ever read a book about evolution written by an evolutionary biologist?
these elements that you mention have in common.

Originally posted by NickstenYou said they should be locked away forever, but now you don't seem to be saying they should be locked away forever anymore. Do you have the same mixed feelings or doubts about punishing people who abuse children physically?

I haven't actually heard about this before now really - let me have a read and get back to you...
If you are serious about finding out what Christian scientists think, a good place to start would be at www.biologos.org. (Note: NOT biologos.com, which is a commercial site!)
I am probably what you would call a theistic evolutionist, and I would be happy to explore/explain this with you further.
Originally posted by Proper KnobThis argument, which has been heard so often, actually does not stand up to scrutiny.
What about letting the evidence be presented to your children and them making up their own minds?
For example, you probably have your children eat their broccoli and brush their teeth, right?
You don't wait until they are old enough to understand the concepts "tooth decay" and "Balanced nutrition".
Likewise, every conscientious parent, whether Hindu, Muslim or atheist, if they themselves are totally convinced of the correctness of their personal position, will teach their children likewise.
It's what parents do, and it is called raising children.
Originally posted by CalJustDo you think someone accusing those with a different belief system, who do "what parents do" in this regard, of being "child abusers", might be a poster - with tongue in cheek - trying to bring "their" [and your] religion into disrepute?

Not providing a child with adequate nutrition and not letting them brush their teeth would be detrimental to their health, i don't think you could say the same about teaching them a universally accepted scientific fact.
Incidentally, i have no children.
