What century are we in? I had really expected to see peace and love encompass all mankind, the next war fought by space aliens with trained laser monkies on jet speeders and some reasonable expectation or equal rights. But no, the biggest officially sanction bum buggerers on the planet are still entrenched in hypocrisy.

Pope Benedict XVI said this week that gay marriage poses a threat to "justice and peace." The 85-year-old religious leader went on to suggest that same-sex marriage is "unnatural."

According to the Associated Press, the head of the Roman Catholic Church kicked off the Christmas season on Friday with the traditional lighting of the tree in Vatican City's St. Peter's Square. On the same day, the Holy See released the Pope's message for World Day of Peace 2013.

As Gay Star News reports, the Pope, in his annual address, said that same-sex marriage is "unnatural" and "against human nature."

"There is…a need to acknowledge and promote the natural structure of marriage as the union of a man and a woman in the face of attempts to make it juridically equivalent to radically different types of union," the Pope said, according to ANSA.

"Such attempts actually harm and help to destabilize marriage, obscuring its specific nature and its indispensable role in society. These principles are not truths of faith, nor are they simply a corollary of the right to religious freedom. They are inscribed in human nature itself, accessible to reason and thus common to all humanity," he continued.

The Pope went on to suggest that support of gay marriage "constitutes an offense against the truth of the human person, with serious harm to justice and peace."

More like serious harm to the Vatican income statement.

The Pope is entirely correct, it is unnatural as anyone who looks at the physiology of
the human body will tell you. To state that his stance is unloving or hypocritical is quite
wrong, the Catholic church has quite been consistent on the matter. If gays want to
legalise their relationship they can enter a civil partnership which conveys upon them
all the legal benefits of a married individual, churches and religious bodies should not
be forced to accept a morality that is diametrically opposed to their tenets and should
be able to voice those opinions without being termed haters, as is often the case.

Your position is correct, however do you really think that is the true motivation of the Catholic corporate organisation?

Out of the shadows he shall come,
Fascinated by the shape of your bum.
What will you say as he pins you down?
You're wearing pants not a party gown.

To him your flesh you must render,
for you are his preferred gender.
No use calling for church or state,
When you're on the ground it's too late.

How shall we deal with with this dilemma,
When a man desires Joe instead of Emma?
Are you fair game or is it desecration
should laws be changed in this nation?

How will it go what shall be done?
Not everyone's idea of fun.
Should we all live and let live?
What decision shall you give?

I am with the Pontifex Maximus on this issue, no hate, simply advocating that which is
self evidently natural.

No church will be forced to conduct a same-sex marriage in the UK.

Oddly, the Church of England and Wales will be prohibited from conducting one by law. Do they think that might let the occasional one slip through?

The Santissimo Padre may be right on what is considered
to be natural, but he is out of touch with reality and losing
credibility in lots of other matters. His church is in decline.
Vocations are falling as well as membership.

The young are not interested in the Catholic Church.

The generations coming up after us are not interested in any church.

yes but the legislation only came into effect like last week, you can still lose your job
though if you express any concerns in the workplace, as many have found out to their
detriment. I have no idea how the church in England or Wales functions, it appears to
me to be unrecognisable to the image portrayed by Christ in scripture. As to your
question as to whether one or two might slip through, hard to say, although what is
clear that if they do it will set a precedent.

Indeed, but this is a consequence of a faith that is essentially passive.

Unnatural? How do you come to that conclusion?

Since you mention physiology you are presumably talking about anal sex? A
practice which is more prevalent in heterosexual relationships and is becoming
the "norm" in . (Just google it)

So how do you classify a practice as unnatural?

And also who gives a damn about whether something is 'natural' or not.

Arsenic is natural... That doesn't mean it's good for you.

I have provide extensive text on the matter and grow tired of these weak and beggarly
arguments like this latest one, a vain and scurrilous appeal to popular opinion. You
google it for it is clear that the anus is physiologically not designed for penetration
regardless of whether people engage in it or not, you would know that if you knew what
you were talking about, which clearly you don't otherwise you would not have
presented some kind of deviant social convention as proof of whether a practice may be
considered natural, weak, real weak.

no its not brilliant, its an epic fail and reflective of the depths that idiotic posters will go
to in order to justify a morality that is clearly destructive, based upon empirically
established facts. HIV is now at its highest level in the UK, due in no small part to the
very practice which these idiots are advocating, indeed the who cares blind guides of
materialism have a lot to answer for, reprobates and morally bankrupt they promise all
kinds of freedom not realising that no moral restraint is essentially and potentially
harmful. They have, as the scriptures indicate, come to be passed all moral sense and
reside in mental darkness. Sorry to be so preachy johnny, but they really are
reprehensible.
