@ghost-of-a-duke saidWhat was that old saying? Only fools rush in.
The chap will be busy rushing to your profile to see if you are a member of the Ghost Chamber.
@suzianne saidQuoting a verse about modesty is a bit rich coming from you, Suzianne. You are ostentatiously scathing and sanctimonious about how you are a better Christian than those of your fellow Christians who have traditional conservative values and you mock and dismiss as fake those with whom you have political disagreements. So much for modesty. One could cut your dollops of self-righteousness with a knife.
The simplest verse of this type is this:
"But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first." -- Matthew 19:30, KJV
@suzianne saidYes, I agree, but that one on the first and the last is reserved for the general population. Mine was in reference to our group in the discussion, the disciples of the game of chess.

And some here are accusing you of being delusional and paranoid? Sounds as if the accusers are merely projecting, as already noted. Anyway, someone told me long ago, that love and hate are so close together that it's very difficult to tell one from the other. Maybe it's love that is spurring them on to play you, and not the ball. They want your personal attention, and you are pleasing them by giving it to them. By giving it, I mean in this everyday sense of the word, clobbering. Clobbering them in this debate. They must be debate-loving masochists.
Of course this is meant just for a laugh, although it's not funny when there is a serious attempt at character assassination.

And some here are accusing you of being delusional and paranoid?
Only in so far as it manifests itself in certain posts.

@pettytalk saidThat sounds like petty talk.
Although I'm one day late, it's all about respect, when it comes to titles. Because there's a wise saying which goes like this. The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
Humble yourself, sir! One day it may do you some good.

@pettytalk saidNow where have we heard that one before.
although it's not funny when there is a serious attempt at character assassination.
@pettytalk saidAgreed. Well said.

@divegeester saidYes it is, as the name implies, upfront. I always get a kick out of that. You have taken the bait. But don't feel special, as thousands have fallen for it.
That sounds like petty talk.
But, are you sure that's really me, and not your repetitive petty play on the person, and not the ball?

@pettytalk said“Thousands”?
I always get a kick out of that. You have taken the bait. But don't feel special, as thousands have fallen for it.
@fmf saidSanctimonious? That's Donald Trump's nickname for his primary opponent, De Santis.

Do you have political aspirations, and have borrowed from the Don? He projects a great deal, as well as being a serial character assassin. Not to mention all the lies.
@fmf saidI think you gave up your right to judge Christian quality a long, long time ago.

I think you're also participating in a little "piss-taking".
Your own "modesty" is somewhat lacking as well.
And "self-righteousness"? Now that's a good one.

You seem to be seeing through their artful dodger techniques. Not everyone does, and they count on those who flock to them to spread their little fictional stories. I've never played that game, and so they reserve their harshest words for me in response.
What's the phrase? Water off a duck's back. Yes, that's it.
