from http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=stand
stand (v.)
Old English standan "occupy a place; stand firm; congeal; stay, continue, abide; be valid, be, exist, take place; oppose, resist attack; stand up, be on one's feet; consist, amount to" (class VI strong verb; past tense stod, past participle standen), from Proto-Germanic *sta-n-d- (source also of Old Norse standa, Old Saxon and Gothic standan, Old High German stantan, parallel with simpler forms, such as Swedish stå, Dutch staan, German stehen [see discussion in OED]), from PIE root *sta- "to stand" (see stet).
That's the verb, but isn't it beautiful? That is how we get grounded in this 'grand illusion'.

Oh the irony....
I say feel free to believe as you want as long as you don't hurt others whereas you say follow JC or you will burn in hell.
Who is controlling?
Your issue is with God, not me.

Once again I ask goddy doddy to hit me with a lightening bolt for being blasphemous, or whatever.
Nope. It's still not happening.
I got a happy life. I've had to work at it but basically I'm at peace with you and the rest of the universe.
(Is god like the guy with flamethrower from COD? )
You have no idea who I am do you?
People make marks all over the place. Religious art and architecture are some of the greatest in the world. It's ironic that this eledar person is offended by the concept. Isn't he standing for his belief? Doesn't he leave his mark in these internet gladiator battles?
But he does so with insult and a distinct lack of reason and charity. He's a radical, the kind that gives religion a bad name.
