@kellyjay saidThe meat that endures to eternal life is good works and righteousness. Belief in Christ is demonstrated by keeping the commandments.
John 6:27-29 English Standard Version (ESV)
Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
@rajk999 saidDoing isn't enough, scriptures are very clear, we are saved by faith not of works least any of us boast about this. It is our Savior who redeems us, not our efforts, but His, through His work not ours. God calls us out by name, we will not come to Him least He first draw us, to be redeemed by God to know Him in this life.
Keeping the commandments is the same as obeying the Lord.
Ephesians 2:7-9 English Standard Version (ESV)
so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Galatians 3:12-14 English Standard Version (ESV)
But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.
John 17:
And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do.
John 6:44
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.
The way has been set so we all can be saved, forgiven, but the way is hard and narrow and few that find it, many are called, but...
Matthew 7:14
For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

@rajk999 saidIt is merely those who are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, those who are not will die in their sins. We are redeemed by God and for God, unlike your doctrine of working for God’s gift of salvation. We give our lives to Him, picking up our crosses daily to do the work of God. Your doctrine claims we have to earn it on our works.

Eternal life is not a reward for doing good works.
Romans 11:35
Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
God does not owe eternal life to anyone just because they do good works.
Your arguments that doing good works for salvation is a direct contradiction of Ephesians 2:8&9 which says "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
