Charlie Batch set to start for the Steelers in Week 3.
Of course this had to happen after I said he wouldn't see the field at all this year. That's just the way it goes. 🙂
(team focus, patience, poise, decisivness, understated grace under fire).

The Rams pick is not one I am confident in but I like the young Sooner Bradford and despise the old taskmaster Shanahan, the overrated McNabb and the whole Redskins franchise in general. They haven't had a player worth cheering for since Darrell Green retired. Call it a pick from the heart. 😛
Seven dogs I took in Week #3 include Tenn +3.5 and Oakl +4.5 (with Wash -3.5
over Stls and GB -3.5 over Chicago). SF -2.5 also comes up strong against KC.
EDIT: The Bears-Packers game is sure to be a barnburner and while I like the Packers to win the NFC North (and the NFC), I think the high-riding Bears end up with a gutsy W at home. They are playing the underdog card at the moment and I think they want this one more after getting swept by the Packers last year. Look for Cutler to have a big game against his rival-for-years-to-come Aaron Rodgers.

W3 Money near mouth
The following to beat the spreads:
Tennesse
NE
Cleveland (I just can't give up on 'em!)
TB
Carolina
Atlanta
KC
Detroit
Houston
St. Louis
Phil

Jets

NFL Footy Confession:
Taken a long while but here's how one diehard fan has gradually learned to grasp the NFL: 1) Slow long term conference and team strategic parity grind; 2) Shorter term season to season equilibrium dynamic manifesting itself quite often in head scratching weekly over/under performance coverage of point spreads; 3) A continual reality check lag factor between what the teams and casinos know versus what the casual fans actually know and accept. Many, if not most, find themselves subjectively looking in the rear view mirror and/or are too risk averse to say 'no' to even fragile or false favorites. Fact: more favs than dogs win outright; fewer favs than dogs win against point spreads. Bottom line, the noble game from a pool participation or wagering standpoint is probably much more about the vagaries of human nature and competitive behavior than football per se.

Last week the only positive I seen was GB. I wheeled them in 4 different parlays. I lost all 4 with PHILLY giving me my most humiiating defeat. You would think with alittle over 5 min left up by 17 should be a hit. This is my first year to depend upon the web to give me the information I need. This is something new to me. I had a script with local big name paper( FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM) to get it. This is a brand new world to me and I can't wait to tell you how to read between the lines. Oh!! I'm sorry. You guys can already do it. I'll try and name my picks before game time, but my expanded family reqire my presense to celebrate a life and I'll be with them.

Originally posted by darvlayI'm in complete agreement with the TB pick, as I look at their unbeaten stance with a great deal of suspicion, too. That being said, the Steelers are a mess. Batch?! Why not call me off waivers instead, right?

And, with it being a home game, I see all the TucanFans going ape-s. over extending their unbeaten streak--- anything less than a win for them would be unacceptable. Barring the win (which I put as 50/50), I just don't see them losing by a measly field goal.
