I hadn't seen spain's first game, but this performance only makes it clear to me that they are THE favourites to win the cup this year.
did you see any of the second half of portugal against the classy north Koreans? surely they're favourites to lift the cup now 🙄

I'm going to issue a bold statement:
1 of the half-finals will be:
Uruguay-Germany
(Uruguay will beat Nigeria or South Korea and in the quarters they will beat the USA. Germany will have much tougher matches, beating England and Argentina)
I also predict Spain will be 3rd placed in this WC.
Originally posted by Red Nightno it's not. if you predict the order of the top two you can predict their route to the final. like i need with argentina and brazil before the tournament started... onions picked a uruguay/germany semi final but depending on where they finish in their groups they can only meet in either the quarterfinal or final.
It is early t ostart picking, cause we need to see how the brackets get sorted

Fill it out yourself and explain how Uruguay/Germany can meet in the final... I would understand if you had said Germany would be defeated by Argentina.
Also, despite playing against the mighty honduras, of course I did not mean the result was brilliant, or did I base my conclusions on that. It just became apparent for me that their technicity and the general quality of their players is hardly surpassed by any other team. Remember I had not seen any other game by them, and was generally impressed with their ability to exchange passes with little space, for example.

chile has ben just as good if not better then spain in the first two matches, as has brazil and germany. they're all contenders but it's hard to say who's favorite.
Argentina vs Greece was like the Battle of Thermopylae, Argentinian shots on goal raining down like Persian arrows while Tzorvas fiercely guarded the Hot Gates with his 300 defenders. I am currently imagining a wounded man with one eye running back to Greece to tell them the news of the defeat.
Originally posted by kes29Jesus, the game was awful. Germany's defense was woeful despite Ghana playing without any passion (that substitution with 91 minutes when 0-1 down says it all).
Ghana - Germany 0:1. The best game I've seen in the competition so far. This is the most exciting to watch German side I can remember. Glad both teams went through.
