I'm in group 2 and am now very sorry I qualified from round 1 at all...

Is there anyone rated over 2300 still in this.

I'm rated 2300 in my dreams, does that count?

There are only five players on this site above 2300 at all. Everyday seems to be the closest, and probably has the easiest group.

I've been moving as soon as I get my turn for the last 2 weeks of my timebank. good thing I've had insomnia and slept only 3-4 hours a night. the games have been won for ages, but I'm still in danger to lose on time 1-2 queens up against his lone king. 1 day left for both of us.

it feels like I was blitzing 5 0 and losing on time. for a month. this is no ...[text shortened]... lly, really, REALLY hate this hard 60 day limit.
and probably won't play one next year.[/b]
I hope Russ or Chris listen to you, because the time is fast for such a grand tournament. You have about 2-4 months to finish 16 games! Takes me 2-4 months to finish every game I play, and I move reasonably. A big reason I shy'ed away.

I suggest allowing enough time for an average of 10 moves in 50 days or so... I believe that the ICCF does something like that.

Of course, the time for this tournament is meant to make the tournament finish in a year, but perhaps increase it to make players feel more comfortable.

I think besides group 3, group 8 is the hardest, we have 6 players who have all been over 2000 rating at some point, and the second highest avg. None the less, group 3 will be the funnest to watch, it will be extremely exciting!

I expect to play a number of moves that in retrospect will seem highly comical.

I second that - no 2200's to beat off, but certainly a group of high achievers. Incedentally, I am not one of those who reached 2000... 😀

I'm sure some people will get upset by timeout. at least that is how I plan I getting to round 3, of course lasting that long is going to be next to impossible. my plans never go according to plan. 😉
