Why's the tournamnet filling so slowly? I'm wanting to see it at 500 people before I start to consider.

its to many game for not a lot of reward for most people, i entered and played all the games last year but never had a chance of winning the group or even beating someone who might win the group. so this year i'm just going to play the games against people higher rated than me and resign the rest before playing them.

we all have to accept our limitations in our own ways ... this does sound like one way to move into the future ... what is your way?

edit: forgot not to comment on engine use

commenting on engine use is fine - so long as it is known to be true ... it is the public speculation which is banned/bad ....

for instance in your first round here - you were very lucky that Trains44 was banned for engine use just in time for you to make round 2 instead of being knocked out by silicon (see group 33).

good luck against gatecrasher - i hope the best wins!

i have no chance of winning my group so i might as well just concentrate on the games against players better than me, i'm not going to learn anything from playing the games against 0-1400 players. so its pretty much just a waste of time playing them, i already have a pile of games with 0-1400 players i don't really want any more.

If they're that easy to beat then you may as well play out the games? You won't have to take as long on each move and it's nice to lay the smacketh down every once in a while. Is it a bit disrespectful to resign games purely because you think you'd beat them too easily??

These 0-1400 players might be hoping to learn from you
