On a whim I decided to start looking from the end rather than the beginning. Of course my luck had me in group 5. :-P

Agreed. Random pairings makes it much more interesting for lower rated players to join this event. And at the end of the day, the experiences from the past 2 championships are that the final group is pretty strong in any case...
group 10, pretty reasonable chances to get through. only one higher rated player, and even he's only 100+. I'm gonna make a point of not dropping anything in any of the 2007 champs games. good luck to everybody!

There's no way I could possibly win the group, but there are an awful lot of players with ratings bouncing up and down in the same sort of ballpark. Could be fun if I can actually concentrate and get some form again.
