Submission 2: Mustang Sally: please to be considered for Best Cover, Best Vocals

Submission 3: Don't Get Around Much Anymore: please to be considered for best Band, best Instrumental.

Thank You
Epiphine and Gatecrasher did the same type of explanation so you can tell what the category the artist wished to be represented.

Is this the correct method?

If it's OK, then everyone will have to read through the thread to find artist explanations. Unless someone complies that info.

"Song limit is one song per category. If someone wants a particular song to be considered over another in any particular category, then they should add the category of said name to the filename."

What does that mean? I understand the first part to mean that one song goes into j ...[text shortened]... egories of categories come into play there again? The second part is just a mystery to me.
Yes. You are correct. There is a definite descrepency there. It would have been more helpful had you pointed this out three weeks ago, but nevermind. If I were to say all songs can be considered in all categories, no limitations, do you think it would work?

It worked well the last time, so I don't see why it wouldn't work this time. I have tried to say this all along, but it seems my message didn't come through any clearer than yours.

Hmmm. I don't recall. I'll take your word for it though. I think that's final then. We're running out of time. Look forward to hearing your entry(s) if you choose to partake.

I am working on one and have another one (in cooperation with a friend) still in the thinking stage - not sure if we'll make it with that one, but I'll get at least one entry in.

It would work, but if you want more structure, then don't allow all songs in all categories, but rather all songs in all categories for which they are eligible. For example, "Best lyrics" would include all songs that have original lyrics. "Best musician (solo)" would include anyone playing a solo musical instrument. "Best submission" would include all entries. etc etc...

In the end, it should be the organiser who draws up the list of entrants in each category. All the contestants need to do is submit whatever they like into the computer, instrumental and vocal folders.

I understand what you are saying. I'm just going to try to let common sense prevail on such matters. As you you say, best lyrics is only for original lyrics. Judging lyrics of cover versions would be ridiculous.

I now understand that soloist means single musician without accompanyment. I will retract Badmoon's Blues, since I overdubbed me on rhytum and myself on solo, and submit something to fit your soloist description.

I would also like to mention that any vocal tracks with the aide of computer pitch modulation for accuracy or effect, should be considered "computer music" and not best "vocals".

Do your guitar tracks still qualify as instrumental and not computer music if they go through a digital delay?

Yo Rev, this competition could turn out to be like the Civil War, pitting brotha against brotha. I was thinking maybe we could collaborate or something for one entry in the band category. Let me know if you want me to lay down some phat bass lines over one of your guitar recordings and we can enter it on behalf of the greatest clan this site has ever known, the BWA.

Yo, Doc, I appreciate that, but it's all I can do to figure out the bare minimum to post my shizzilistic composition. It ain't no thing for me to lose to you as I can celebrate a BWA victory in so many ways.

Speakin of a BWA victory, is West Virginia not the most retarded state in the country?

According to this ranking of SAT scores by state, they didn't even make it onto the chart.
