What is it with these right-wing, religious nuts - whatever the problem, we solve it with war?
Some people - especially those committed to killing you - cannot be talked to. That leaves only one course of action. If it's kill or be killed, we're not going to try to talk our way out of confrontation.

But for many people, their first instinct is to go to war.

People call for assassination cuz it's the quickest and easiest way to get rid of people that are potentially a PIA like Chavez - In the right situation. The problem is, the political situation has to be correct for a friendly government to take control or you just opened a monster can of worms on yourself. Assassinating Chavez right now would probably backfire. Don't get me wrong, if somebody Hathcocks Hugo or Zim-Bob I won't lose any sleep. I just wouldn't recommend it. At least with Chavez.
As for going to war as first option. You might have to consider where the "right-wingers" come from. In America, war generally works in our favor. Can't blame a person for wanting to move the fight to a venue where we have a distinct advantage now can you?
