@jj-adams saidHow do you live with so much hate?
Just follow Joe Biden's advice, grab a double barrel shotgun, walk out on the porch, and let loose with two blasts in the air to scare away bad guys:

Or do you just get your opinions from people who are paid to talk?

Are you opposed to testing, licensing and insurance requirements for cars? How about vehicle inspections to keep dangerous vehicles off the road?
car that has gone through testing, licensing, and insurance can still kill if something
about the driver causes it, with or without all of the testing, licensing, and insurance
it can happen. My point to you is still it isn't the gun, millions of people who won
licensed and unlicensed guns don't kill people; I imagine the number of people
who die due to car and trucks with all of the requirements each year is higher, so
are you advocating the removal of automobiles?

@suzianne saidNot hate at all, I find Joe Biden to be hysterically funny.

Think I'll go out on the porch tonight and fire both barrels of my 12 gauge into the air, and when the police show up, I'll just show them the video of Biden telling us that's how to handle things.

@vistesd2 saidWith the fever hate for all things guns, yes, I would have a problem with that.
@KellyJay
No, I am advocating such things as background checks, renewable licensing and insurance requirements for gun ownership, similar to what we require for driving cars. I assume you would not object.

@kellyjay saidClearly, those who are causing the mayhem are gun owners, therefore background checks and more licensing may be the way to go. Most of these perps are first-time offenders. You advocate exactly what I said, doing nothing, and waiting until they blow people away, who are increasingly becoming your neighbor's kids. How about a psych eval with that gun license?
Advocating doing nothing, hardly, but whatever we do, we should be doing it to
those who are causing the mayhem are not those who have nothing to do with it.

I believe you'll find many of those who are causing mayhem have illegal weapons
not legal gun owners by in large.

86 percent of mass shootings have been with legally obtained firearms.

@vistesd2 saidGun owning is a right that has been in place since the country's foundation.
@KellyJay
So, you think gun owners should be held to lesser standards than car owners (or no standards at all?) because of a "fever hate toward all things guns"?! Wow.
Taking away rights is quite different than granting someone the privilege of
driving a car on the roads that the government has built.
Not sure why you are shocked; the standard for owning a weapon is being a
citizen and many want to lower that and turn it into a privilege, so the
comparison as you make it only shows how you feel about it.
The link I just read, I couldn't navigate without allowing tracking, but I'd like
to know what the definitions were, what is considered a mass shooting, more
then one, and when you take into account all shootings, what does that do to
the numbers?
