First thing they should do is raise the age of ownership to 21. ALL the school shooters were teenagers, 18 yo's can buy assault rifles and their weapon of choice is the AR 15, making those teenagers the best equiped HS killers on the planet.
BTW, the biggest cause of child death is guns. Nice way for a kid to grow up, eh.
Would you rather be a child in America or a child in Africa/Mexico/South America/Asia?

Yes. Indeed. Silly you.
A base set of rules needs frequent tweaking.
It does? Isn't it about time change the rules of chess? Jesus. Sometimes, Shave, sometimes...........

I cannot imagine being such a pathetic excuse for a human being that my self-worth would be wrapped up in owning a gun.
I cannot imagine you Not having a gun when someone slips into your bedroom at 3AM. I would love to empty my 308 into him. May I entertain you with a case of a woman and children who would be dead now had she not had a gun. !0 seconds video, then report back if you think she should have had a gun.

The rules of chess have changed over the centuries.

Laws are, to a large degree, situational.
If you live in a coastal area it might make sense to obligate kids to learn to swim. If by global warming that said area turns into a desert, then that obligation is no longer needed.

Etc.

That is one cracker-jack story.

Someone rang her doorbell.
Instead of opening the door, she phones her husband who tells her to hide with the kids. And she does so, taking a loaded gun with her.
The husband phones the police.

Her husband calling the police: In the 911 recording, Herman can be heard saying, "She shot him. She's shooting him, she's shooting him. Shoot him again."

Is there nothing in that scenario that sounds a little strange to you?

Basically, from the moment she calls her husband, because someone is ringing her doorbell, she manages to load a gun, get the kids and hide up the stairs. At the same time the father is phoning the police, and at the same time telling his wife to shoot the intruder again (2 phones?).
So, in that short period of time, the intruder rings the doorbell, breaks into the house, rummages around, looks for the mother and kids and then gets shot 5 times.

Nothing there sounds a little off to you?
The time line sounds right?
The reaction to a doorbell ringing doesn’t appear strange?
The location of the father (not in the house) sounds correct?
Picking up the kids and getting out the backdoor doesn’t seem like a more logical reaction in a dangerous situation?
The father not telling them to get out of the house sounds like good advice to you?

Seriously. If I was the police in this situation, I’d definately have a proper look to see what the hell happened.

No, I would rather not be any of those.

Europe works for me. Civilised, no gun obsession, no interference from American drug barons or Chinese politicians.

You really are ignorant, aren't you?

The rules of chess have been changed many, many times.

Quick now, no looking it up: which two new FIDE rules of chess were introduced in the 2014 version?

If you can't answer that, I'll be back to inform you just how ignorant you are, tomorrow.

Joe, you just admitted being a pathetic, cowardly, snivelling loser compared to me.

So, you, like Shav, think that this did not happen? That it is trumped up? That the woman was not in the closet with a loaded gun and empty it into the intruder? It is OK with me if you think I am a coward (as the Forum is not personal) but can you respond to this issue? That you think I am a loser to want my gun? When I just showed you how important guns are? Oh, Shallow......

Too late, Shav beat you to it, 4 clicks back. You must have been at the park doing frisbee.

No, 2014. Not 1889.

Answer the question, Joe! Why do you Republicans run from answering simple questions all the time? Are you chicken? Are you yellow-bellied? Well? Are you?

Fear knows danger is there, and you are powerless to stop it, knowing you
can stop it, that isn't fear; that is wisdom.
