@joe-shmo said**74 million **
I didn't watch it...
But I did see a clip where he said we need to unify, then he basically calls out 78 million Trump voters ( of all races/ethnicity ) as domestic terrorists...maybe it was taken out of context?
However...seems like a good start to me! Yay! Everything is going to be great when they begin the war on white America! Let the purge of the white devil comm ...[text shortened]... een lead astray. They can just go into re-education camps and then be reintroduced into the system.
Let me guess. Some conservative talking head somewhere (Sean Hannity?) started saying 78 million voted for Trump, so now you all parrot that erroneous number as if it was handed down from God to Moses. Typical. But not true, no matter how many times you get it wrong.

@averagejoe1 saidStop with your unfeigned ignorance, already.
Actually, I liked his style and his commitment to making America Great Again, to tell you the truth. I liked his words. I was just disappointed what, after our man has left, he intends to DO, what policies.... Yes, I know about his 17 exec orders yesterday, we will see how that goes with energy, etc, ,,,,,,,I just did not hear what he is going to do as practical matter. Promises. Like the ones Trump made.
He's made at least a half dozen televised speeches in the past month about what he's going to do. The rest of us have heard them, we don't need to hear the list yet again. Catch up, please. I know you were too busy crying over the loss of your soulmate Trump, but America is moving on. Get on board or be left behind. The rest of us aren't buying your ignorance routine any more, it's just a stalling tactic to redirect attention to yourself. Grow up.

@very-rusty saidBiden did Trudeau a favor over the pipeline.
Obama and Clinton were two of the better speakers of any modern day President I can remember. Biden did certainly get his point across, and great to see him going in a different direction and changing many things the Trumpster did on his first day.
The pipe line is going to be a big issues out west where it is estimated they will lose 1 billion dollars. I think that is ...[text shortened]... nada will have with U.S.A. that is a major one.
I am very happy to see the Trumpster gone!

@averagejoe1 saidThere will be unity by prosecuting Trump.
Shav...and all....seriously, please weigh in your opinion of the unity issue. On the one hand, he was dead set on soothing us with promises of unity, us being about 75M people. Yet, he will stand by and allow the Congress and Senate to impeach Trump. This is anything but unifying.
Everyone, should Biden abide by his promise of unity and end this?
He must be made to pay for his attack on democracy. You can still worship him if you please, but please stop claiming that anything you say about Trump is a majority opinion. It is not.

@averagejoe1 saidThe pipeline should never have been started. To run it over the ancestral burial grounds of the Lakota people was an insult that will never be avenged as it should be. Again, it should have never happened.
I've mentioned 3 times in the Forum what shut-down of pipeline will do, but no one seems interested in this happening. Just let it happen? Let the chips (jobs and oil) fall where they may?

@very-rusty saidLook, I know Halifax is a long way from Washington, but there's this amazing invention called television that lets you see things far away as they happen.
I believe an example has to be set or this will set as an example you can get away with invading the White House, and Trumpster was the one who told everyone to march to the White House and fight like hell.

It was the Capitol building, not the White House.

@great-big-stees saidIt was 74 million. See? Now they have you repeating their error.
Will Pence be the new Messiah for the 75M?

@averagejoe1 saidThis tone is particularly insulting. All federal employees take the exact same oath VP Harris took (Biden, as President, takes a slightly reworded oath specific to the office of President), and every one of us takes this oath very seriously. To imply that Democrats don't live up to the oath is an injurious lie. We all live this oath every single day. Only those like you, who never take any oaths, are ignorant enough to believe that your fellow Americans can take such an oath and not mean it.
Could be. Just follow the rules of being president, ,,,,th first one is his sworn oath on the capitol steps yesterday. The part about the Constitution,...... if he would have all of his people follow it, it would make the conservative lot of Republicans most happy indeed.
It is already in the book!!!!! Just follow it, doesnt even have to think about it. All else will fall into place as our forefathers meant it to be.
C'mon, Joe!
-Removed-I can't speak for Shav, but for myself, I've heard too many good, heartwarming, human speeches from politicians and experienced too few decent, neighbour-loving, effective actions from even the best of them, for a speech to ever make me truly happy.
Don't get me wrong, I'm decidedly less skeptical about Biden than about 99% of the alternatives. But he's still a politician, and I still believe I'm justified in being at least a bit skeptical.

@joe-shmo saidAnd did all those people attack the Capitol on Jan. 6?
Whatever...I think your failing to see the bigger picture. Does it really matter if its 74, 75, or 78? any of those is still " very nearly" half of the people that voted in America...
No. Those were the people Biden was calling out.
And perhaps you should remember that 80 million voted for Biden. Stop thinking your vote was anything other than a vote of confidence and alliance for a madman.
21 Jan 21
@mghrn55 saidNot the issue. The question here is not about the merits. Biden promised healing, unity, the works. You are trying to reason it out,,,,,I, on the other hand, am saying he is going about 'unity' in the wrong way if he wants to impeach yesterday's president.
Do you think that Trump's actions leading up to the Jan 6th debacle is impeachable ?
Or do you think that Trump's own "law and order" criminal justice system should apply instead ?
Not a good start.
