I can't speak for Shav, but for myself, I've heard too many good, heartwarming, human speeches from politicians and experienced too few decent, neighbour-loving, effective actions from even the best of them, for a speech to ever make me truly happy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm decidedly less skeptical about Biden than about 99% of the alternatives. But he's still a politician, and I still believe I'm justified in being at least a bit skeptical.
It's day one (okay, day two now) after four long years of s---.

That's got to make you a little bit happy.

But, no, I get it. You didn't live through it. It didn't quite affect you like it affected us. Especially those of us who saw Trump for what he was in 2016. It's been a wake-up call to find that so many of my fellow Americans are this stupefyingly gullible.

Not the issue. The question here is not about the merits. Biden promised healing, unity, the works. You are trying to reason it out,,,,,I, on the other hand, am saying he is going about 'unity' in the wrong way if he wants to impeach yesterday's president.

Not a good start.
Too effing bad. You lost. Get over it.

Sound familiar?

There will be unity by prosecuting Trump.

He must be made to pay for his attack on democracy. You can still worship him if you please, but please stop claiming that anything you say about Trump is a majority opinion. It is not.
SUzianne, over 70M people wanted,, and want, him for president. They are in his corner. The Democrats want to ruin this man. You say there will be unity in prosecuting. His 'attack on Democracy' is open to interpretation. If you read his remarks to that mob, you cannot say he told them to do what they did. Therefore, you cannot say he attacked democracy, so it follows that you have nothing for him to 'pay for' by prosecuting him. You and Sonhouse, need to settle down. Are you aware that Social Justice is rated ahead of Economic success in our country now? There's a thread for you. And we wouldn't have to talk about Trump.
I said earlier that you folks are going to keep on talking about Trump to distract what Biden is up to. I personally will fade away on Trump talk, and bring up some interesting facts on the horizon.

The pipeline should never have been started. To run it over the ancestral burial grounds of the Lakota people was an insult that will never be avenged as it should be. Again, it should have never happened.
You could be losing a little Forum cred to write something so stupid. And I JUST WROTE above that your pitiful social justice stuff (Lakota people in this case) is ill advised, you better keep your eye on the sparrow.
Shouldn't have a pipeline? Shouldn't have Energy independence? Well, that is two of you.....Joe Biden and yourself.

Biden did Trudeau a favor over the pipeline.

This could be very true, Suzie Q!

I made a mistake in saying Biden's first visit would be to Canada, should have been his first call would be to Canada's P.M. on Friday. We know the other guy didn't call Canada first, we do know who he called instead and visited first though.

She's an inspiration to a dying generation what cares for its progeny.

Amanda Gorman: A worthy successor to Maya Angelou.

And at just 22 years of age; she's rising with a bullet.

Biden is staying out of the impeachment process.
We'll let the justice system take care of the Law and Order President.
